IKT - Institute for Complementary Therapy

We are a training institute that is home to various methods and accompanies people on their path of learning, research and further development with heart, vitality and clarity.

We create an interdisciplinary environment for your professional future within a network of therapists, trainers, method schools, supervisors and students. In this "learning space", you will develop your specialist knowledge and discover the diversity of complementary therapy together with other professionals.

The training is flexible and leaves room for personality and individual development to unfold. It is important to us that each and every individual finds their own personal approach to complementary therapy and adult education and thus finds their own way to implement this knowledge therapeutically.

We don't just train you, we promote a learning environment in which different methods come together and enrich each other. It is important to us to create respectful and trusting relationships among the future members of our profession.

Our training concept

In order to meet the professional challenges of today's world as a therapist, you need more than just a rucksack of specialist knowledge after completing your training.

Therefore, our concept is based on giving you as a future therapist some additional tools to be able to support your client preventively and holistically, with a foundation of 360-degree knowledge.

1. specialist training - the core of our offering
80% of the training content is made up of specialist training. We place the highest value on quality and depth. Our participants acquire in-depth knowledge and practical skills to provide clients with expert support. We support participants in this process by holding status meetings before completing the individual training modules in order to clarify questions and reflect on the training objectives. Our administration team also regularly attends the training modules (digitally) in order to provide optimal support with administrative matters.

Through our second pillar, we want to ensure that our graduates not only excel therapeutically, but are also able to care for clients professionally and prudently.

2nd Practice up close & Clinic Days - Immerse yourself in the real world of therapy
That's why we visit care facilities or have clients with specific illnesses visit us as part of our training. The goal is clear: we want to bring competent therapists into the healthcare sector who are able to respond to the individual needs of clients from day one. Theory is important, but practice makes the difference.

3. wellbeing - the compatibility of education and life
In today's world, it is crucial for healthcare professionals to find a balance between education, continuing education, further training, work and personal life. We are convinced that only healthy therapists can work sustainably in the healthcare sector.
We therefore offer students the best possible balance between continuing education, further training and private life. Course days take place online, if possible in terms of content and within the framework of legal requirements. We attach great importance to meaningful face-to-face teaching. Recordings are available to review missed course content when everyday life allows.
The training courses can be interrupted and certain course days can be taken individually. We design the course content in such a way that it is challenging, but not overwhelming, and is complementary to the before and after.
Many of the training participants have a busy family, private life and career. This can make it a challenge to juggle everything. We want everyone to feel that they are in good hands with us and that continuing education, further training is experienced as an enriching and resource-strengthening phase of life.

4. new health topics - keeping up with the times
Healthcare is constantly changing and as a training institute we want to ensure that our programs are always up to date. This is also part of the ICT's vision. This is why we place particular emphasis on integrating new healthcare topics into our training every six months. This includes, for example, innovative approaches such as the use of smart devices in therapy, as well as current trends from the USA, which focus on topics such as trauma sensitivity, hormones and menopause.

The 5th pillar...
Our graduates are not forgotten either. They can take advantage of our latest knowledge in continuing education, further training and benefit from discounted participation fees for up to one year after graduation.

Tronc Commun, Supervision, SVEB

Tronc Commun KT

The Tronc Commun KT is a common training area in complementary therapy for all methods recognized by the OdA KT. It basically consists of three parts: medical basics, profession-specific basics and social science basics. For prospective complementary therapists on their way to the KT industry certificate and the federal diploma, the Tronc Commun KT forms the method-independent foundation for successful work as a healthcare professional.

Superision

Through individual and group supervision, which is an integral part of the training, we create a space for questions and clarification for the trainees. Supervisors are specially trained and help to optimize processes in the work, to develop clarity in working with clients in order to develop and sharpen their own skills in dealing with clients.
