The continuing education programs in Applied History at the University of Zurich encourage students to think outside the box. They open up the specific strategic potential of the historical method in a practical way, which is generally of practical use in a wide variety of professional fields: in politics, diplomacy, business, teaching, management, the media and the cultural sector. The program conveys an in-depth understanding of current problems and conflicts; it familiarizes students with essential aspects of modern historical science. Historical thinking is presented as intellectual software that can be used in a variety of ways. And one more thing: studying history can be fun!

The 21st curriculum for the MAS Applied History 2026 to 2028 course begins on 5 June 2026. The part-time continuing education program lasts 2 years and comprises 29 modules, the majority of which are held on Fridays and Saturdays. The schools take place in Europe and worldwide.
