Higher vocational education (Continuing Education and Training / Tertiary Level B) in Switzerland, together with Universities (Tertiary Level A), forms the Swiss tertiary education system. It builds upon a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (EFZ) or an equivalent qualification from the upper-secondary level, as well as professional experience.

By completing a higher vocational education program, you will acquire the skills required for demanding technical and leadership roles in the construction industry. Higher vocational education allows you to specialize in a specific area and deepen your technical knowledge. At the same time, you will develop the fundamental skills needed to take on responsibility and successfully lead a company.

Effective October 1, 2026, legally protected English title designations have been in effect for these degrees to make them more comparable internationally:

Professional Bachelor's Degree:Complements qualifications from Federal Professional Examinations (Federal Diploma of Higher Education) and Colleges of Higher Education (Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education).
Professional Master's Degree:Complements degrees awarded upon completion of the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE).

The Zurich Construction Trade Vocational School offers a wide range of continuing education programs for professionals in the construction industry.
