Federal Professional Examination with federal certificate
Chefs are considered experts in the application of cooking methods and the design and creation of culinary dishes and products. They manage the kitchen of a restaurant, hotel or other business or institution expertly and professionally. In doing so, they always draw on their sound specialist knowledge in the areas of marketing, business organization and costing.
They are considered managers in the catering kitchen and are therefore responsible for all employees and apprentices. In preparation for the theoretical part of the Federal Professional Examination, GastroZürich teaches the necessary basics in a preparatory course in accordance with the regulations and guidelines.

The aim is to further one's education and at the same time to be able to reflect on one's own entrepreneurial actions in everyday life. Accordingly, it is crucial that continuing education, further training is practice-oriented and, above all, takes place alongside work. Participants learn about the key instruments of business management, can design them individually and try them out in practice in their own area of responsibility
or implement.
Basic gastronomy seminar G1

The BIildungszentrum GastroZürich offers the first level of gastro-entrepreneur training, the Gastro Basic Seminar G1 with GastroSuisse certificate. This seminar is aimed at people who are preparing to take over a hospitality business in the short or medium term or who want to acquire basic knowledge of running a hospitality business. The GastroSuisse certificate is recognized as equivalent to the cantonal certificates of competence in all cantons.
In addition to the required management experience, successful graduates fulfill the conditions for attending the 2nd level of the gastronomy entrepreneur training (G2), gastronomy operations manager with a federal certificate (FA).

Subsidies
The preparatory courses for the Federal Professional Examination entitle the participants to receive subsidies from the federal government and the L-GAV. The prerequisite is that the costs are charged directly to the participant. Course costs, course materials, module examinations and Federal Professional Examination are eligible for subsidies.
