The Private University of Applied Sciences in Business PHW Bern has been offering business management education and continuing education for 25 years. Its credo is to impart first-hand knowledge and to provide your students with individual and personal support. And because the PHW Bern knows how important your work is alongside your studies, all its courses are designed in such a way that you can complete your degree up to 100% part-time.

Lecturers

PHW Bern only employs part-time lecturers. Experienced managers, self-employed entrepreneurs or consultants from a wide range of sectors and industries.

The overriding credo is that your independence of thought is promoted and that you are encouraged to independently develop the knowledge you have acquired. This means that not only the economically correct, but also individual value standards are developed as a basis for decision-making.

History of the PHW in Bern

In 1995, the Private University of Economics VPHW association was founded as the basis for the Private University of Economics. The aim of the association was to create a business school with a responsible body under private law and to secure its management. Universities with locations in Bern (responsible body Feusi Bildungszentrum), Zurich, Basel and St. Gallen (responsible body Kalaidos Bildungsgruppe) were founded in the same year.

Today, PHW Bern is part of Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences Switzerland, the only federally approved private University of Applied Sciences in the country. This was made possible by a partnership between the two private education providers Feusi and Kalaidos, which founded PHW Bern AG. Together they form the responsible body for the Private University of Applied Sciences in Business PHW Bern.

A strong feedback culture is important to us. This is why we conduct ongoing student and lecturer evaluations and derive the corresponding organizational, infrastructural and personnel consequences from them. We have also been working for years with the EFQM model (European Foundation for Quality Management) to ensure and improve the quality of our education.

Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences
 
The Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences Foundation is a federally accredited and supervised University of Applied Sciences with a private responsible body. It has four departments: Business, Law, Health and Music and currently has around 2,000 students. The PHW Bern is part of the Department of Economics at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences.

BSc in Business Administration UAS

The part-time degree program in Business Administration (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration UAS) teaches you the basics of scientific work and, above all, analytical and methodological skills in all areas relevant to business administration. You will expand your knowledge and at the same time learn directly for practical application. You will create excellent career opportunities for yourself on the job market and gain access to Master's degree courses right up to a doctorate. As a business economist, you will also have access to a wide range of fields of activity in the service and commercial sectors of the private sector and in public administration.
