As a Swiss educational institute for drama therapy, we offer therapeutic training and continuing education, further training. The art therapy specialization in drama therapy makes targeted use of theater concepts and other artistic means in the creative-therapeutic process. The quality of our educational offer is guaranteed by the international team of lecturers with recognized experts. The educational institute is a member of the Swiss Professional Association for Drama Therapy SBVDT and a recognized module provider of the umbrella organization for Swiss professional associations for therapies with artistic media ARTECURA.

Drama therapy training

The training in art therapy prepares students to work as therapists or counselors in clinics, social institutions or their own practice. A central focus of the four-and-a-half-year course is on self-awareness. Just as important as the practical examination of bodywork, projective techniques and role-playing is the study and linking of theoretical and conceptual issues.

Conclusion

Each year of training includes specific qualifying work. Students who meet the OdA ARTECURA admission criteria, have completed all levels 1 to 3, were present for at least 90 percent of the course and have completed the final assignments and their presentations with a positive assessment, receive

• the OdA ARTECURA industry certificate, which allows you to be recognized by health insurance companies
• All 7 OdA ARTECURA module certificates for admission to the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) (list module content and say at what level)

This diploma complies with the requirements of the EMR and ASCA registers of experiential medicine.

Fields of activity

• in inpatient work: in therapeutic residential communities, homes, hospitals, psychiatric clinics, rehabilitation centers, etc.
• in outpatient work: counseling and therapy, e.g. addiction counseling, victim counseling, youth and family counseling, youth clubs, schools, addiction and AIDS prevention, etc.
• in intercultural work: when language is a barrier to communication between people from different cultures

Continuing education, further training in art-oriented supervision - additional qualification

• Duration: 9 months
• Training location: St. Gallen

This additional qualification enables you to do this:

• Create their own professional concept for art-oriented supervision, justify it professionally and use it in supervision.
• To assume the role of the supervisor professionally, contextually and professionally justified.
• Recognize and professionally frame the different roles and working relationships in supervision.
• Weaving the contextual conditions of the supervisees into the interventions in a system- and art-oriented way.
• To facilitate the supervisees' reflection and learning processes in terms of attitude, perception and action.
• Weave cross-cutting issues such as ethics, quality, data protection etc. into the supervisory work.

Target group

This continuing education, further training is aimed at art therapists and other professionals with professional experience. Practical experience is a prerequisite.
