Alternative medicine is a generic term for all non-traditional forms of therapy that are intended to help people, and sometimes also animals, to restore their physical and mental balance, alleviate or completely eliminate complaints, prevent and treat illnesses. There is an abundance of very different therapies and approaches that support the patient in a very differentiated way. All of these therapies can be learned, each one individually, depending on the type of complementary medicine you are interested in. For example, you can attend a course in herbal medicine or hypnotherapy, complete further training as a natural practitioner or in classical massage. All of these courses are offered by different schools and vary greatly in intensity and focus. In this way, it is also possible to attend compact seminars in some areas of alternative medicine, which give you a brief insight into the field of foot reflexology, for example, and teach you the most important content and techniques in a very condensed form in just a few hours. However, the opposite is also conceivable - courses that extend over a period of several years and provide you with intensive and comprehensive training in a discipline of natural healing methods.

Normally, continuing education, further training in complementary medicine can be taken alongside your job or family, so that you often do not have to reduce your working hours at all (depending on your working hours). Courses often take place in the evenings or at weekends, and some schools may also offer them as block seminars so that you can take vacation during this time.
