About us

As a national umbrella organization, SAVOIRSOCIAL is committed to strengthening vocational training in the social sector. The aim of our work is to ensure that the sector has sufficient skilled workers trained to meet its needs and suitable training opportunities. We represent the interests of employers and employees in the social sector and represent them at national level. In doing so, we work together with the national and cantonal vocational training authorities and partner organizations.

Focus & activities

SAVOIRSOCIAL:

• ... promotes the recognition, status and appreciation of the social professions in Switzerland.
• ... is a provider of basic vocational education and training (VET). The association strengthens these training programs and develops them further.
• ... manages and controls vocational training together with the network partners.
• ... is the main point of contact for VET in the social sector for the national VET authorities (SERI, EDK, SBBK), education policy-makers and their partner organizations.
• ... continuously records and bundles the interests of its members and thus ensures the relevance and quality of the educational offerings.
• ... ensures that the public, cantonal and national authorities, political decision-makers, members and partners are aware of SAVOIRSOCIAL's tasks and concerns.
• ...operates the platformsocialprofessions.ch. It is intended to answer the most important questions for people interested in a career (lateral) entry into the social sector and to refer them to further addresses. Professionals in the social sector can also find out about further training opportunities.

In this function, we are (co-)responsible for quality assurance and updating the educational principles of these professions. SAVOIRSOCIAL is the sole sponsoring association for the occupation of FaBe. For all other professions, we share the tasks with other associations.
