For trained biomedical analysts HF, Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (Achtung: English, Federal Diploma of Higher Education (HFPE)) as an expert in biomedical analysis and laboratory management with a Federal Diploma or as an expert in cytodiagnostics with a Federal Diploma are available, as well as additional training, for example as an instructor with a Federal Diploma. Training in leadership and management as well as postgraduate courses, such as a Master's degree (MAS) in Management in Healthcare, can also be interesting continuing education, further training for BMA CHE.

Depending on their chosen specialty, BMA CHE perform various laboratory analyses to analyze blood samples, determine blood groups or infectious agents, and diagnose hereditary diseases, tumors or cancers.
