The practice-oriented course is aimed at specialists and managers from regional, municipal and urban development, spatial planning, urban planning, urban design and architecture, tourism, administration and business, ecology, sociology and politics, as well as representatives of interest groups and associations who wish to deal with this topic in depth.

The CAS Location Management certificate course at the University of Applied Sciences consists of four modules, each with three to four attendance events, totaling 15 days, plus a final presentation. The courses take place over a period of less than four months.

The Certificate of Advanced Studies course CAS Location Management consists of a total of four modules, which can also be attended individually. The first module is entitled "Location Marketing" and deals with the topics of location analysis, positioning and networking as well as communication concepts. Module two, "Location Promotion", deals with the topics of real estate marketing, innovation management and tourism marketing, module three, "Management of Central Locations", deals with city centers and public spaces, and module four, "Municipal Competitiveness", focuses on internal communication, social media marketing, microeconomics of competitiveness and negotiation techniques.

A CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) is a further education qualification from a Universities.

  • Duration: Usually 1 semester part-time
  • Title: "Certificate of Advanced Studies in (subject)"
  • Recognition: International comparability via ECTS points
  • ECTS points (European Credit Transfer System = international credit points)

Currently (2016), the costs for the complete CAS Location Management course amount to CHF 7,000, including certificate and course documents. If you do not wish to attend the entire CAS, but only individual modules, you will have to pay between CHF 1,500 and CHF 2,000 per module, including course documents and course confirmation.

It is not possible to join the CAS Location Management individually, but only on the specified dates. The start date for 2017 is 30.3. Please contact the University of Applied Sciences directly for the exact dates for this and subsequent years.

You will receive 15 ECTS credits for the CAS Location Management (UAS).
