Due to the rapid digitalization in the healthcare sector, not least the electronic patient file, medicine and information and communication technology need to understand each other better. Many projects fail because they do not speak the same "language". Digital Healthcare brings healthcare, IT and medical informatics together - this strengthens understanding on both sides.

The continuing education course CAS ICT in Healthcare (UAS) comprises six centrally coordinated modules that impart practical knowledge at the interface between healthcare and information technology:

• Medical basics: introduction to medical terminology, processes and ways of thinking in the healthcare sector - important for working with healthcare professionals
• Information security and cybercrime: protecting sensitive health data, current threat scenarios and the legal framework in the digital environment
• Law, data protection and professional secrecy: Relevant legal requirements and their application in the healthcare sector, including DPA and medical professional secrecy
• Information Technology: Technological foundations, system architectures and digital infrastructure in the healthcare sector
• Projects, processes and innovations: Management methods, process optimization and the introduction and evaluation of innovations in healthcare IT
• Soft skills and communication: successful communication in interdisciplinary teams, conflict management and leadership skills

The CAS ICT in Healthcare (UAS) continuing education, further training program is for professionals who work in the area of conflict between ICT and healthcare or would like to do so. The content taught helps them to master complex challenges confidently and competently.

Digital health refers to the use of digital technologies in the healthcare sector. The aim is to optimize patient care, facilitate access to medical care and improve diagnoses and treatments. Digital health is also intended to increase efficiency and reduce costs in the healthcare sector.

Participants are expected to have a tertiary degree and at least 2 years of professional experience after graduation. Persons with other adequate qualifications and professional experience can also be admitted to the CAS ICT Healthcare after a dossier examination.
