Dipl. Betriebswirtschafter CHE: Experience report by Daniel Meier - this continuing, further training offers a good springboard into middle or upper management
Please tell us about yourself and your career to date.
I am Daniel Meier. I originally completed an apprenticeship as an electrician. After completing my military service, I started working in the family business - initially as a driver, as one of the drivers had broken his leg. That's how I got to know a large part of our customer base. At the same time, I completed my commercial diploma. In Stuttgart, I continued my training to become a master miller. I then completed the technical course in milling in St. Gallen. Today I work as operations manager again in the family business - Knecht Mühle in Leibstadt.
Which course are you completing at WISS?
At the WISS School I am currently completing a course to become agraduate in business administration CHE.
What motivated you to study Business Administration CHE?
I chose continuing education, further training in business administration CHE to further my personal development. In addition to these personal reasons, I would also like to continue filling my bag of experience.
Why did you choose the WISS School?
I chose the WISS School because I particularly liked the teaching times for the Business Administration CHE course. I wasn't looking for an evening school or a Saturday school. Tuesday afternoons and evenings are best suited to my other work schedule.

Wherever you learn something, you can also take something with you that will help you in your professional life. The continuing education, further training has given me a lot of decision-making aids.
What do you like best about the CHE business administration course so far?
What I particularly like about the business administration CHE course is that all the lecturers work full-time in a company and therefore have a high level of practical relevance. I was also impressed by the way the transition to distance learning was organized during the coronavirus pandemic. It went smoothly without a single day of lessons being canceled. School continued at home without interruption.
Were there any challenges for you in continuing education, further training in business administration?
A big challenge for me in continuing education, further training in business administration is balancing family, business and school. For example, it's not always easy when I have a tough time in business and then have to concentrate on school. However, if you have a clear goal in mind, such as graduating as a business economist CHE, you can manage it.
Can you increase your market value with a degree in business administration CHE?
I can definitely increase my market value with a degree in business administration CHE. In my view, this happens with any continuing education, further training.
Has your training in business administration already helped you?
Training as a business economist CHE has already helped me personally. I've become calmer and now approach things in a more structured way than before.
Who would you recommend the CHE Business Administration degree to?
I have already recommended continuing education, further training in business administration CHE to a few colleagues. I would generally recommend this continuing education, further training to anyone who wants to continue their education in the field of business administration. It is a good stepping stone for later employment in middle and upper management.
How is the atmosphere in the class and with the lecturers?
The interaction in the classroom and with the lecturers at WISS is very friendly and personal on the CHE Business Administration degree course. For me, it's like a small family.
Which situations in class did you appreciate the most?
I particularly liked the way the students were involved in the lessons on the Business Administration CHE course. By that I mean getting them to engage in dialog. I appreciate good interactions between lecturers and students, which also involve personal experiences from the participants' individual companies. This is implemented well at WISS.
What did the business administration CHE course bring you personally?
The business administration CHE course has reawakened my thirst for knowledge. It is clear to me that I will continue after this training. I would then like to continue studying business administration at the University of Applied Sciences.
