What can graduates do after completing the “VSH Trade Diploma” program?

With a business diploma, graduates are prepared to take on challenging roles in business or administration. For many people, the Business Diploma serves as a foundational business education. It provides them with a solid general understanding of economics and equips them with strong written and oral communication skills. Successful graduates can take on a wide range of business administrative tasks or specialize according to their skills (accounting, purchasing, sales, logistics). In addition, graduates of the VSH Commercial Diploma program—offered by the Association of Swiss Commercial Schools—are able to communicate clearly and effectively in at least one foreign language, both in writing and orally. A part-time VSH diploma is generally regarded in the professional world as equivalent to a basic commercial apprenticeship leading to a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training. The Swiss Trade Association (SGV) also recognizes the VSH Commercial Diploma as such. Upon successful completion, graduates are entitled to use the protected title “VSH Business Professional.”

What are the prospects and benefits of continuing education, further training?

The program at a VSH business school is designed to build on your skills; this means that earning the VSH Business Diploma does not mark the end of your professional career. Instead, you can pursue a one-year internship to earn the Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training as a business administrator—and, if applicable, the Federal Vocational Baccalaureate as well. This opens the door to interesting educational paths at the administrative level, for example. Or you can aim for a Federal Diploma of Higher Education (e.g., Marketing Specialist with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education, Finance and Accounting Specialist, etc.).

The VSH Business Diploma also helps you grow personally; it gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the office environment, which is often difficult for career changers without a diploma. You’ll also get to know other like-minded people in the program and can network and build friendships.
