My name is Vanja Veselinovic. I am the course supervisor for all CHE and postgraduate studies CHE courses at WISS. I completed a CHE degree in Tourism almost 8 years ago. I worked for a language travel company for a long time. I moved to WISS about two and a half years ago. I'm also studying for a Bachelor's degree in Business Psychology at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences, so I'm familiar with the student side of things. As a course supervisor for computer scientists CHE, I can therefore also empathize well with the students of theCHE computer science studiesput yourself in their shoes.

The target group for the CHE Computer Scientist course is anyone who has already completed a Federal VET Diploma in Computer Science and has gained initial professional experience in this field. Those who would now like to continue their education, further training in the field of computer science. The course content of the CHE Computer Science Technician course (since 21.10.22 called CHE Computer Scientist) is very broad. The aim is to build up a foundation and specialize as a computer scientist CHE:

The CHE Computer Science degree course lasts 3 years, i.e. 6 semesters. The CHE degree course in Computer Science Technician (now Computer Scientist) is designed in such a way that some of the teaching takes place together with various disciplines such as Business Administration, Business Process Technician (now Process Technician) and Business Information Technology. However, there are also separate subjects specifically geared towards the student's own field of study. A degree course in Computer Science CHE costs between CHF 15,000 and CHF 16,000 in total. This amount already includes the cantonal subsidies. The amount does not include teaching materials, which amount to a maximum of CHF 1,000 for the entire course.

This question is not easy to answer. There is not one specific profession that can be practiced with a degree in Computer Science CHE. It's more about building a foundation for a career in IT. This allows you to develop internally so that you can take on more responsibility. It can also be used to take on a higher position. It is also a basis for further studies for specialization.

As a computer scientist CHE, you can complete a shortened Bachelor's degree in computer science or business informatics at a University of Applied Sciences. We also organize in-house information events for CHE IT technicians to show them other further training options. Other paths such as MAS or MBA are also conceivable as a computer scientist CHE. This is possible in the form of CAS modules that build on each other - e.g. CAS in IT Management or IT Service Management.
