Duration and procedure
The courses offered by the higher technical colleges for communication designers HF are mainly designed to be part-time. Some schools also offer the course as a full-time model.
The courses have a modular structure and usually last 4-6 semesters.
The courses comprise 5,400 learning hours. In addition to attendance time, the learning hours also include time for independent learning, group or individual work and work placements.
Semester examinations must be taken during the HF course to qualify as a qualified HF communication designer (formerly HF communication designer, specializing in visual design).
A diploma thesis (for example in the form of a project) must be written to complete the HF program. The design of the requirements is the responsibility of the schools; the requirements may therefore vary.
Costs
The course fees amount to CHF 8,900-17,400.
The fees for the admission procedure and enrollment are CHF 50-200.
The examination fee and the costs for the diploma thesis are not always included in the course fees. You may have to expect to pay around CHF 400 for the examinations and CHF 250-2000 for the diploma thesis.
Some providers charge additional costs for training materials, teaching aids or exam repetitions. We recommend that you enquire about the extra costs directly with the provider of your choice.
