Duration and procedure

• The courses offered by the higher technical colleges for communication designers HF are mainly designed to be part-time. Some schools also offer the course as a full-time model.
• The courses have a modular structure and usually last 4-6 semesters.
• The courses comprise 5,400 learning hours. In addition to attendance time, the learning hours also include time for independent learning, group or individual work and work placements.
• Semester examinations must be taken during the HF course to qualify as a qualified HF communication designer (formerly HF communication designer, specializing in visual design).
• A diploma thesis (for example in the form of a project) must be written to complete the HF program. The design of the requirements is the responsibility of the schools; the requirements may therefore vary.
