Are you looking for a suitable educational institution for training or further education in building construction, such as an apprenticeship as a bricklayer?

On Ausbildung-Weiterbildung.ch you will find suitable training courses for an apprenticeship as a bricklayer:

Taking on more responsibility thanks to a bricklaying apprenticeship

Bricklayers are specialists in the construction of walls - whether for new buildings, maintenance, refurbishment, restoration or renovation. They are deployed wherever construction is taking place. They are required to read and implement complex execution plans. They do not work exclusively with state-of-the-art machines, but can also handle traditional hand tools professionally. Bricklayers carry out concreting jobs with formwork and reinforcement, build a wide variety of masonry and integrate special elements and insulation according to customer requirements and planning. They are responsible for the professional installation of prefabricated ceiling, wall, staircase and window sill elements and their plastering. In civil engineering, they also carry out demanding pipeline, filling and earthworks and construct shafts. The workplace of professional bricklayers is mainly outdoors and often at dizzying heights. It is therefore clear that they must be in perfect physical condition, in good shape and, of course, have a head for heights to do their job. Bricklaying jobs are usually carried out in teams - so team spirit is very important in the bricklaying business.

Not everyone is lucky enough to complete basic training at a young age. Some construction workers have been carrying out professional bricklaying jobs for a long time without ever having completed a bricklaying apprenticeship. Would they like to complete their basic training as a bricklayer in order to take on more responsibility in the workplace or to earn more in the future? Renowned technical colleges offer a shortened two-year version of the bricklaying apprenticeship for adult professionals with several years of experience in bricklaying. As lessons take place in the evenings or at weekends, graduates can continue to work full-time.

Would you like to find out more about the bricklaying apprenticeship for adults? Are you looking for specific offers for this course in your region? You can find information, direct contacts to schools and free and non-binding information material at Ausbildung-Weiterbildung.ch.

Questions and answers

If you do not have a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training as a bricklayer, but have a few years of professional experience, you have the option of doing a shortened bricklaying apprenticeship. German or Italian language skills at level B1 or better are required for the bricklaying apprenticeship for adults in accordance with Art. 32 BBV.

Graduates of the bricklaying apprenticeship for adults obtain the same qualification as all other bricklaying apprentices, namely the Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training as a bricklayer after passing the federal examination.

A "classic" bricklaying apprenticeship lasts three years until the qualification procedure / apprenticeship certificate.

Two years for adults with relevant professional experience as part of catch-up training in accordance with Art. 32 BBV.
