Sport KV

The Sport KV (Federal VET Diploma) is aimed at young competitive athletes who want to combine their sporting career with sound commercial training.

In contrast to traditional training paths, Sport-KV models take into account the special requirements of competitive sport. Training camps, competitions and intensive training phases are taken into account as far as possible when planning training. This means that sport and training can be pursued in parallel.

During their training, apprentices acquire the same commercial skills as in other commercial apprenticeships and graduate with the Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma).

(Prospective) top athletes need a lot of time for their daily sports training. Completing an apprenticeship at the same time is utopian and simply impossible. For this reason, selected private schools sometimes offer basic education courses with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, such as the Sports Business School or the Sport KV, whose timetables have been specifically adapted to the athletes' training schedules. The KV can be completed in the B profile as well as in the E profile. A successful entrance examination is required for the M profile.

Although the participants do not work in an internship company during the first three years of the apprenticeship, they have plenty of time for their training units. School lessons take place two days a week in the first two years and one day a week in the third year at the commercial school. In addition, the private school offers homework lessons and support classes to ensure that all students successfully complete the qualification procedure (QV) after three years. During the fourth year of the Sport KV apprenticeship, 50 - 70% of the apprentices work in an internship company, leaving 30 - 50% of the working week for training hours.
