What admission requirements must be met for the Technical Radiology CHE course?
To be admitted to the CHE training course in medical-technical radiology, you must have completed a vocational apprenticeship, preferably as a healthcare specialist Federal VET Diploma, care specialist Federal VET Diploma or medical practice assistant Federal VET Diploma, or have a school-leaving certificate or comparable qualification, as well as undergo an aptitude test, which may vary depending on the educational institution.
Can I also complete a Bachelor's degree in Technical Radiology?
In the field of technical radiology, you can either attend a College of Higher Education (CHE) or complete a Bachelor of Science in Medical Radiology Technology at a University of Applied Sciences (UAS). However, different admission requirements apply for a UAS course than for a CHE course.
How long does CHE training in technical radiology take?
The full-time course at a College of Higher Education (CHE) lasts three years, but can be shortened if you have the relevant qualifications. For more information, please contact the schools.
What degree do I receive after completing a CHE degree in technical radiology?
Once you have passed the examinations, you will be awarded the federally protected title of "Certified specialist in medical-technical radiology CHE".
What do technical radiology specialists do?
Certified specialists in medical-technical radiology CHE are mainly employed in medical radiology in nuclear medicine, radiooncology and diagnostic radiology. However, they are also often employed in research, veterinary medicine, education or industry. Their task is to carry out radiological-technical methods as ordered by a doctor, using imaging procedures to make a diagnosis and operating high-tech equipment to facilitate treatment and examinations. They are also responsible for equipment management, quality management, work organization, the quality and documentation of images and the care and monitoring of patients.
