What will I learn on the "Fiduciary (FPE)" course? What knowledge and skills will I have afterwards?

In the preparatory course for the “Fiduciary” Federal Professional Examination (now “Consulting and Fiduciary Services Specialist”), you will cover the following topics:

  • Law
  • Accounting
  • Personnel administration
  • Taxes
  • Revision
  • Business and economic consulting

Upon completion of the continuing education, further training program, you will be qualified as a fiduciary with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education (now known as “Consulting and Fiduciary Specialist with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education”) and will be able to handle bookkeeping for a small business, prepare tax returns, conduct a limited audit, manage payroll accounting, and advise clients on legal matters.

Specifically, this means: You can set up charts of accounts, post day-to-day transactions, prepare annual financial statements, and prepare for the audit. You are familiar with the deadlines for filing tax returns, can review tax assessments, and assist with appeals. For comprehensive audits, you’ll provide support as a certified public accountant; you can conduct limited audits independently, including preparing the audit report. You can assist with company formations by providing advice on legal and insurance matters, as well as preparing, for example, cash flow projections and investment analyses, setting up payroll accounting, and managing human resources administration.
