TheTraining and CertificationInsurance brokers are subject to supervision by the VBV (Vocational Training Association of the Insurance Industry), which acts on behalf of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).

The training ismodularThis program is designed for and aimed at professionals who are entering the insurance brokerage field or who wish to build a solid theoretical foundation for their brokerage activities in the insurance sector. Participants with relevant prior education may be exempt from certain modules. The insurance brokerage training program concludes with a written and oralExamfrom.

Various educational institutions, as well as the VBV itself, offer insurance brokerage servicesExam Prep Courses. The exams are designed by the VBV and administered several times a year.

Those who pass the exams will receive theAssociation Certificate"Insurance Broker (VBV)." The certificate is recognized by FINMA and is considered a professional qualification for theRegistrationas an insurance broker.

The “VBV Insurance Broker” certificate qualifies the holder to use the labelCicero(Certified Insurance Competence), the VBV's seal of quality.

Prerequisites

  • Federal VET Diploma or a comparable degree
  • Good oral and written German language skills

A basic understanding of the insurance industry and some initial experience with customer interactions are recommended.
