How does Wingwave therapy work?
In wingwave therapy, it is important to know that the stimulation of both hemispheres of the brain in both EMDR and wingwave® coaching is not carried out exclusively via eye movements. As a rule, attempts are also made to address other sensory organs and auditory and tactile left-right stimulation of the brain is also used. A special wingwave® music has even been developed for wingwave®. The many good results speak for the positive effect of approaches to targeted bilateral hemispheric stimulation in therapy and coaching. It is assumed that the positive effect of these stimulation techniques arises from the training of optimal cooperation between both hemispheres of the brain and thus all areas of the brain.
How does the Wingwave method work?
The wingwave method was developed for the treatment of post-traumatic stress. The coach makes rapid horizontal movements with their fingers and hands in front of the client's eyes, which the client follows with their eyes. The effect is reminiscent of the REM phases that people go through during intense dreaming and in which we process emotions. Today, this method is one of the most effective psychotherapy methods worldwide for post-traumatic stress disorders.
What can be achieved with wing wave training?
The following goals can be achieved with Wing Wave training:
- a structured questioning technique and feeling into the body (body scan) to detect the blockage
- use the so-called myostatic test as a compass to find out whether we are on the right track
- Release the recognized blockage by waving horizontally in front of the coachee's eyes
- induce an artificial REM sleep phase
- Generate wink phase to allow processes to run in the brain
