Language study trip to Nice/France

Why did you decide to study French?

I did the language course primarily because I needed a certain level of French for my studies as a tourism specialist. As my French at school wasn't good enough and hadn't been spoken for a long time, I decided to do the language course. I also love being able to communicate in foreign countries and speak as many languages as possible.

In which country and in which city did your language study trip take place?

I decided to spend a language study trip on the beautiful Côte d'Azur, more precisely in Nice in the south of France.

When did you complete the language study trip? How long did it last?

My language study trip started in August 2013 and lasted 18 weeks until mid-December 2013.

How satisfied were you with your language study trip? What did you particularly like?

I wouldn't want to miss the 18 weeks in Nice, because I had an interesting and very instructive time, during which I managed to progress from basic French A1 to B2. I particularly enjoyed Nice, the city offers many sports, cultural and shopping opportunities. I will never forget the many nearby destinations on the Côte d'Azur, which are ideal for trips and excursions. I liked the school's central location in the middle of the city and the mix of nationalities among the students.

What did the language study trip do for you personally and for your career?

Thanks to the language course and the diploma I obtained, I was accepted to the College of Tourism. My language skills made my studies a lot easier and I was also able to use the French language in conversations with foreign partners during my internship.

What tips would you give to anyone interested in a French language study trip?

Think carefully about the purpose of your stay and choose the right school at a suitable destination. Book your language study trip with smaller agencies, as they often have schools on offer with fewer Swiss students. Take your time to decide and get detailed advice!

Which language study abroad providers have you registered with?

I booked my first language study trip with Frischknecht and my second with akzent sprachbildung.

How satisfied were you with this provider?

I can highly recommend both providers, both offer competent advice and support during the stay.
