As a marketing manager HF or marketing manager HF, you work at middle management level in the marketing departments of larger SMEs or large companies. In this role, you tend to be responsible for overall marketing - which always consists to a large extent of online marketing, but usually not only. Of course, the HF Marketing course also teaches you the most important aspects of online marketing. Today, cross-media marketing is used - which optimally combines online and offline. However, if you are aiming to train as an online marketing manager, you can alternatively attend a postgraduate course at HF level that focuses specifically on digital marketing.

A marketing manager is entrusted with managing the marketing department of an agency, company or organization. They are responsible for creating the marketing plan and coordinating the respective marketing activities between the relevant departments. The marketing manager reports to the management at all times on the success of the individual marketing measures and carries out a thorough success analysis. On the basis of this, they initiate adjustments and changes where necessary in order to further improve the desired result and develop marketing activities based on this. Marketing managers are also responsible for personnel management and the distribution of the marketing budget.

The admission requirements for a Marketing Manager course vary depending on the educational institution. As a rule, the following requirements must be met for admission to a College of Higher Education:

  • Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training as a merchant, retail specialist or mediamatician

or

  • Other Federal VET Diploma and at least two years of relevant professional experience in marketing and/or sales (with a professional activity of at least 80%).

or

  • Matura certificate or Specialized School and at least two years of professional experience in marketing or sales (with at least 80% professional activity).

Those who do not meet the admission requirements can be admitted via an entrance examination. Different marketing manager requirements apply for degree programs at universities and Universities of Applied Sciences. For more information, please contact the respective Universities.

In the case of the Marketing Manager CHE course, it is different from other CHE degrees. This is because students here will soon receive a Bachelor's degree in Marketing Manager at CHE level with the same number of ECTS credits as a Bachelor UAS. However, this is an exception, as it is an SMC degree.

The Dipl. Marketingmanager HF and Dipl. Marketingmanagerin HF distinguish themselves from other marketing and sales managers through their broad business management and leadership skills.
sales specialists with a federal certificate. As there is no need for intensive preparation for an external examination, there is more scope for practical relevance and application orientation in the lessons. The required examinations serve as proof of the specialist, social and methodological skills acquired and bring direct benefits to companies by solving problems. Depending on the learning content, different forms of examination are used in the HF degree courses. However, the examinations are spread over the years of study and thus throughout the entire course. In the diploma thesis at the end (written in the last four months), the skills acquired can be documented in a comprehensive piece of work. In addition to the practice-oriented and written work, there is an oral specialist discussion.

Social media channels are an important information channel for many interested parties when choosing a suitable marketing manager course. They offer authentic insights, reviews from previous participants and the latest content from the schools. A survey has revealed which platforms are consulted particularly frequently:

  • 29 %pay attention toGoogle reviews
  • 25 %useLinkedInfor orientation
  • 20 %inform themselves aboutFacebook
  • 18 %followInstagram-channels of the providers
  • 11 %view content onYouTubeon
  • 7 %drawXingconsult
  • 3 %can be accessed viaTikTokinspire
  • 3 %usePinterest
  • 1 %take into accountSnapchat

At the same time, 29% state that social media did not play a role in their decision. 19% preferred other sources of information.

These figures show that social media is a relevant factor for many, but not for everyone. If you want to find out more about a marketing manager course, you should use social media channels as a supplement to get as comprehensive a picture as possible - for example through testimonials, visual impressions from lessons or tips on current topics.

Important: The importance of social media can vary greatly depending on the school and course. Each educational institution determines for itself how active it is on the various platforms. The best answer to your personal question about choosing the right marketing manager course is therefore provided directly by the respective school. Send your question directly to the desired school - simply use our contact form.

The Marketing Manager (CHE) course takes three years to complete while working. Marketing specialists or sales specialists with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education can apply for a shortened training period of two years.

The following further training courses can be attended after the Marketing Manager training with HF degree:
