Coach training can take place in very different ways. For example, there are seminars, courses and training sessions that fully train you to become a professional coach, as well as short introductory courses or basic courses that introduce you to the basics of coaching and consulting. Anyone seriously considering working in this field in the future, either as an independent consultant or as a supplement and second pillar to their existing work, should be aware that sound training and regular continuing education, further training are required. After all, in order to become a consultant, it is important both to know the theoretical approaches through coaching training and to be able to apply them usefully in practice.
This means that a short seminar lasting a few days will not be enough to provide you with the necessary technical, leadership, social and coaching skills for professional training, but it will if you just want to gain a first impression. Such coaching seminars are also extremely useful if you want to expand your skills portfolio, whether for private or professional purposes.
More extensive coaching training is also possible at postgraduate level at Colleges of Higher Education and Universities of Applied Sciences. The federally recognized diploma Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (CHE) in Business Coaching is one of these options, as are postgraduate studies leading to a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Career Coaching (UAS) or a Master of Advanced Studies in Coaching & Organizational Consulting (UAS).

• Further training for the federal diploma for counselors in the psychosocial field (higher professional examination for the federal diploma, the preliminary stage is usually the professional examination for company mentors with a federal certificate) or federally certified supervisor/coach

The content of a coaching course is as varied as the courses themselves.

Interested parties can focus on areas such as business, coaching for children and young people, personal development, career counseling and a variety of other fields, all of which have different target groups and therefore pursue different goals.

This also means that interested parties must inform themselves thoroughly about the individual coaching courses in order to find exactly the right one.

In coaching training, the first step is to get to know the terms and definitions, which interested parties can then use to get to know themselves better, recognize their own potential and tackle change.
It is therefore important that course participants are also prepared to work on themselves in order to achieve the best possible results.

This is followed by in-depth knowledge of how to prepare, conduct and conclude a coaching session, as well as learning about different techniques and tools. In addition, course participants train their counseling and communication skills.

This question is difficult to answer, as there are a large number of coach training courses that train you in very different areas. A further training course to become a career coach, for example, cannot of course be compared with a coach for children and young people, for business, resilience training or human resources. All training or continuing education, further training courses have different content and duration, so we cannot recommend a course that you can complete quickly. Basically, you can say that a CAS, a Certificate of Advanced Studies, is a short continuing education course. It usually lasts one semester, i.e. half a year, and is completed alongside your job. Nevertheless, these CASs are usually aimed at people who are already working in the field of supervision, consulting, training or coaching and want to continue their education, training or coaching. As a newcomer, you need basic training that will enable you to help other people and support them in a wide variety of life and work situations. In this case, four hours a week for one month while working is not enough to give you the skills you need. You should therefore expect a longer training period and contact the individual schools, who will be happy to present their different training models to you.
