To be able to work as a craniosacral therapist, you need extensive training, which you cannot acquire in the form of basic training (apprenticeship). Training in craniosacral therapy is a part-time continuing education, further training.

Admission to the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) for complementary therapists using the craniosacral therapy method requires at least an upper-secondary level qualification (Federal VET Diploma, Matura or equivalent) and the OdA KT industry certificate. In addition, at least 2 years of professional experience with a 50% workload or 3 years of professional experience with a 30% workload and at least 36 hours of supervision in the field of craniosacral therapy are required at the time of registration for the AFPE.

Previous medical training in the field of healthcare and basic medical knowledge are an advantage for continuing education, further training in craniosacral medicine, but are not a prerequisite. You also have time to acquire this knowledge during the training.

The first preparatory courses for the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) for complementary therapists using the craniosacral therapy method have been running since November 2015 and will be held for the first time in 2016.

If you are already practicing as a craniosacral therapist of the Cranio Suisse (CP), you must attend continuing education, further training every two years, but even for therapists who are not members of the CP, continuing education is an important prerequisite for professional activity. For this reason, interesting further training courses in craniosacral therapy are offered on a regular basis, lasting from one day to six months and beyond.
