Electrical engineers CHE are able to contribute to the planning, development, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electronic devices, machines and systems. They manage projects or sub-projects at the interface between research and development specialists and production managers.
Due to the study duration of two years (full-time study) or three years (part-time study)studying electrical engineering CHE requires a great deal of time commitment and a high degree of self-discipline and motivation.
Despite cantonal contributions, for the entire CHE program, depending on the schoolCosts of between CHF 13,800 and CHF 19,800can be expected.
The degree dipl. Elektrotechniker / dipl. Elektrotechnikerin CHE is not known outside of Switzerlandand not all foreign managers working in Switzerland are aware of the CHE degree and its importance. Especially in times when innovation is important for companies to stand out from the competition, working in the development of new devices can give your company a competitive advantage.
A job in electrical engineeringrequires technical understanding, analytical skills, computer skills and a precise and systematic way of working. Many of these skills cannot be acquired through studies alone.
Electrical engineers work either in a development department (developing new devices) or in a production facility (manufacturing and testing). They work closely with engineers, technicians, industrial designers, electronics technicians and IT specialists. As electrotechnical systems and devices are used in most industrial plants, the professionals mustacquire and maintain a wide range of skills in various areas such as automation, electromechanics and multimedia technology.
Electrical engineers CHE take on managerial functions in mechanized and digitalized areas of industry, e.g. in industrial production plants, in maintenance departments of telecommunications networks or in security departments, e.g. of banks. They can also take on tasks in the commissioning and maintenance of industrial plants or specialize in the technical-commercial area (sales, customer service). With additional pedagogical training, specialists can also work in vocational training.
