Wage increase after completion of the "Logistics Specialist" course
Most participants earn a higher salary after completing the Federal Professional Examination in Logistics. The example salary for "Logistics specialist" in our calculation is CHF 5,465 (with completed vocational training). If you now go back to the "Training" section and select "Higher vocational training", the new average salary is CHF 6,126. And if you also select "Lower management" for the position in the company, the average salary even increases to CHF 6,897. Try it out!

Example of a logistics specialist with Federal Diploma of Higher Education: CHF 481,000 more salary until retirement
Jonas is 23 years old and works as a logistician in a large trading company in Glarus. He enjoys working in the warehouse, driving forklifts and storing and retrieving goods. His reliability in checking incoming goods, booking them correctly in the merchandise management system and preparing customer orders is greatly appreciated in the company. Jonas also manages to load trucks and vans with correct load distribution seemingly effortlessly. He would like to progress in his career and complete continuing education, further training as a logistics specialist. Jonas would like to deepen his knowledge of logistics and learn about modern supply chain management. By taking the Federal Professional Examination as a logistics specialist with a federal certificate, Jonas will improve his chances on the job market and secure higher wages in the long term.
Financial benefits of continuing education, further training as a logistics specialist
As a logistics specialist, Jonas will receive CHF 988 more per month than before and will therefore have at least CHF 481,000 more at his disposal by the time he retires than if he had not done any continuing education, further training.
As this theoretical calculation does not take into account any further salary increases, promotions or interest on savings, the salary can still increase significantly.

- He recoups the entire training costs of CHF 5,250 in a good 5 months with his higher salary as a logistics specialist (CHF 5,250 / CHF 988 per month = 5.3 months)
- Over the remaining 41 years until his retirement (24 to 65), this additional income will add up to CHF 486,096 (41 x CHF 11,856 = CHF 486,096)
- If the training costs are deducted from this additional income, an additional sum of around CHF 481,000 remains at his disposal(CHF 486'096 - CHF 5'250 = CHF 480'846)
