What are payroll managers, and what are payroll experts? What do their jobs entail?
"Payroll Manager" and "Payroll Specialist" are the titles for two levels of payroll professionals:
- Payroll managers have completed an Edupool introductory course in payroll accounting and payroll management and handle routine payroll accounting tasks. Their main responsibilities include preparing monthly pay stubs and posting personnel expenses.
- Payroll experts have completed an Edupool advanced course in payroll accounting and payroll management and handle complex and legally challenging payroll accounting issues. Their primary areas of responsibility include complex payroll processing and pension statements, hourly wage calculations, and payroll accounting for cross-border employment relationships.
Both payroll managers and payroll specialists work in the human resources department or payroll administration division of a company or a recruitment agency, or are responsible for clients' payroll accounting at a trust company.
