The MarKom admission test confirms sound basic knowledge in the following areas:

• Business administration
• National economy
• Law and finance
• Marketing, communication and market research
• Social media marketing, digital marketing and search engine marketing
• Sales and distribution
• Public Relation PR

In a MarKom course for the exam, participants not only receive pure knowledge transfer of the exam-relevant material, but they are also specifically prepared for the exam. For example, there are many exercises and test exams. Participants are trained in the procedure and structure of the exam, which can take away much of the exam anxiety, as you know what to expect.

Until the 2018 examination year, the MarKom entrance examination was mandatory for admission to the following Federal Professional Examinations (FPE):

• PR professionals
• Sales experts
• Marketing experts
• Communications specialist
  Concept developer and copywriter

Since the 2019 examination year, participants in the individual Federal Professional Examinations no longer have to hold a MarKom certificate.

During the preparatory course for the MarKom exam, the knowledge required for the exam is taught, which must be repeated and internalized outside of the classroom.

This will take around four hours a week in addition to the lessons, although this may of course be more for one participant and less for another. However, it is essential to work through and prepare for the lessons.

If the MarKom examination is not passed the first time, it can be repeated after re-registration - but only at the next examination date.

The examination fees must be paid in full for each registration and participation in an examination or re-examination.
