The costs for training to become an assembly specialist (formerly a specialist fitter) vary from school to school and amount to around CHF 5,500 (incl. teaching materials and VSSM examination fee). He/she is responsible for the organization of assembly logistics, carries out complex monthly orders economically or monitors their execution.

Participants in continuing, further training to become an assembly specialist (formerly a specialist fitter) deal with topics such as assembly preparation and implementation, managing assembly work, preparing the execution of orders and making and implementing decisions. They are also taught skills that enable them to competently manage apprentices and employees, communicate effectively, analyze a wide variety of situations and resolve potential problems or conflicts.
Who can start the assembly specialist continuing education, further training?
Carpenters Federal VET Diploma and carpenters Federal VET Diploma who have at least one year of professional experience as a fitter, as well as carpenter trainees Federal VET Diploma and woodworkers Federal VET Diploma with five years of professional experience, three of which as a fitter, are admitted to the assembly specialist training course (formerly specialist fitter). Fitters who have not completed an apprenticeship but have ten years of professional experience, half of which as a fitter, can also take part in the training.
How extensive is the training to become an installation specialist (formerly a specialist fitter)?
The course to become an assembly specialist (formerly a specialist fitter) comprises a total of 200 lessons, which are spread over around six months. There are also hours for self-study, exam preparation and the final exam itself.
