In terms of salary, the question of whether a new position and function in the previous or another company will be taken up with the degree is also decisive.

You can calculate your personal salary prospects in employment with "Salarium", the federal government's salary calculator. We have calculated a possible case to illustrate this. It is intended as an example and shows the statistical average.

Example of the salary increase on obtaining the Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (formerly Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Business Processes, specializing in logistics)

Bianca completed her apprenticeship as a Federal VET Diploma logistics specialist and worked for 5 years in a large online department store in Zurich. In the waste disposal logistics department there, she was responsible for the recycling and environmentally friendly disposal of waste. With her Federal VET Diploma and 5 years of professional experience, the then 24-year-old earned just under CHF 4,100 a month.

Although Bianca liked her current job, with her previous training she feared that she would have fewer development opportunities in the future, for example in terms of taking on more responsible specialist tasks or management tasks, such as leading a team. Bianca also wanted to leave herself the option of changing departments within Logistics, for example to Marketing.

Bianca therefore began studying to become a qualified process technician CHE (formerly a technician CHE in corporate processes, specializing in logistics) while working. 3 years later, she passed the final exam. During her training, she continued to work at the Zurich online department store, where she was able to apply her new knowledge and skills in her previous role. 2 years after graduating, Bianca asked her boss for more responsibility. As her previous achievements had impressed her boss, she was soon able to take on the role of project manager. With her Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (CHE) in Process Technology and after 3 years in the role of Project Manager, Bianca now earns CHF 5,550 per month at the age of 33 (a total of 8 years after starting her continuing education, further training),which corresponds to a salary increase of 35.4%.
