Wage increase after completion of the "Company Mentor (BP)" course

The "Company Mentor" certificate certifies that you have completed further training at the higher vocational education and training level. Depending on the training and further education you have already completed, you can be promoted to a new salary category.

Your personal salary opportunities depend on various criteria such as the industry, the region, your employer, your previous training, your professional experience and your age. However, you can use the "Salarium" salary calculator to calculate your potential salary increase as a company mentor.

Financial benefits of further training Company mentor

As a company mentor, Max will receive CHF 1,700 more per month than before and will therefore have at least CHF 786,000 more at his disposal by the time he retires than if he had not done any further training.

Calculation in detail

Further training as a BP company mentor:

  • 18 months, part-time
  • School fees, documents: CHF 14,900 minus CHF 7,450 federal contribution = CHF 7,450
  • Examination fee: CHF 2'250
  • Total training costs: CHF 9,700

Wage difference and yield calculation:

  • Difference in salary between the position as vocational trainer and the position as company mentor: CHF 7,606 - CHF 5,906 = CHF 1,700 per month and CHF 20,400 per year (12 x CHF 1,700 = CHF 20,400)
  • He recoups the total training costs of CHF 9,700 in just under 6 months with his higher salary as a company mentor (CHF 9,700 / CHF 1,700 per month = 5.7 months)
  • In the remaining 39 years until his retirement (26 to 65), this additional income will add up to CHF 795,600 (39 x CHF 20,400 = CHF 795,600)
  • If the training costs are deducted from this additional income, an additional sum of around CHF 786,000 remains at his disposal(CHF 795,600 - CHF 9,700 = CHF 785,900)
