This question is difficult to answer, as there are a large number of coach training courses that train you in very different areas. A further training course to become a career coach, for example, cannot of course be compared with a coach for children and young people, for business, resilience training or human resources. All training or continuing education, further training courses have different content and duration, so we cannot recommend a course that you can complete quickly. Basically, you can say that a CAS, a Certificate of Advanced Studies, is a short continuing education course. It usually lasts one semester, i.e. half a year, and is completed alongside your job. Nevertheless, these CASs are usually aimed at people who are already working in the field of supervision, consulting, training or coaching and want to continue their education, training or coaching. As a newcomer, you need basic training that will enable you to help other people and support them in a wide variety of life and work situations. In this case, four hours a week for one month while working is not enough to give you the skills you need. You should therefore expect a longer training period and contact the individual schools, who will be happy to present their different training models to you. If you want to work as a mental trainer or mental coach, you have various options for training and further education in Switzerland. As there is no federally recognized training in the non-university sector, there are a large number of different courses with different focuses, also because consultants, coaches or trainers are not protected terms. Only universities of applied sciences offer continuing education courses that provide you with comprehensive training in the field of mental training. These include, for example, the postgraduate course leading to the Certificate of Advanced Studies CAS Psychological & Mental Training in Sport (UAS).
If you do not have a license for this course or would like to continue your education in another way, there are, for example, certificate courses for mental trainers or mental coaches. Basic courses are often offered that provide an initial insight into this exciting subject area and then give interested parties the opportunity to build on this by attending further courses that even include SVEB 1, for example. You will also find continuing education, further training courses that award certification from the European Coaching Association (ECA), such as the ECA Master Mental Coach / Dipl. Training to become an Integral Coach can vary depending on the training institute. There are also differences within the courses offered by the individual schools. For example, basic training is offered, which serves as a foundation for further courses. After the certificate training, diploma courses and master's courses can be attended.

Depending on the provider, different admission requirements are set for continuing education, further training as a family and child coach. For example, basic training as an Integral Coach and basic knowledge of pedagogy and developmental psychology (which can also be learned independently) may be considered admission requirements. Courses offered by schools that conclude with a school certificate are not federally regulated. This means that the course content, duration, costs and target group may differ from school to school or from course to course.

In the field of supervision, counseling and coaching, there is a whole range of extremely interesting training opportunities. Training to become a mental coach or trainer does not end with a federally recognized qualification, so each school decides for itself which qualifications it awards. In most cases, this is an internal school diploma. However, the BSO, Berufsverband für Supervision und Organosationsberatung, the SGfB, the Berufsverband für Beratungsnahe Ausbildungen, the ECA, the European Coaching Association and other associations that enjoy a certain degree of recognition within the industry set standards for good training and continuing education, further training, which many schools follow.
