In principle, anyone thinking about training or continuing education, further training to become a coach should also be prepared to do something for these additional qualifications. After all, every training course requires commitment and willingness to learn, motivation and, last but not least, sufficient time from the participants. This is because, in addition to attending classroom courses, you must always take into account the time you spend on self-study, i.e. working on what you have learned at home or at another location outside of school, or preparing for lessons. This question is difficult to answer, as there are a large number of coach training courses that train you in very different areas. A further training course to become a career coach, for example, cannot of course be compared with a coach for children and young people, for business, resilience training or human resources. All training or continuing education, further training courses have different content and duration, so we cannot recommend a course that you can complete quickly. Basically, you can say that a CAS, a Certificate of Advanced Studies, is a short continuing education course. It usually lasts one semester, i.e. half a year, and is completed alongside your job. Nevertheless, these CASs are usually aimed at people who are already working in the field of supervision, consulting, training or coaching and want to continue their education, training or coaching. As a newcomer, you need basic training that will enable you to help other people and support them in a wide variety of life and work situations. In this case, four hours a week for one month while working is not enough to give you the skills you need. You should therefore expect a longer training period and contact the individual schools, who will be happy to present their different training models to you. If you want to work as a mental trainer or mental coach, you have various options for training and further education in Switzerland. As there is no federally recognized training in the non-university sector, there are a large number of different courses with different focuses, also because consultants, coaches or trainers are not protected terms. Only universities of applied sciences offer continuing education courses that provide you with comprehensive training in the field of mental training. These include, for example, the postgraduate course leading to the Certificate of Advanced Studies CAS Psychological & Mental Training in Sport (UAS).
If you do not have a license for this course or would like to continue your education in another way, there are, for example, certificate courses for mental trainers or mental coaches. Basic courses are often offered that provide an initial insight into this exciting subject area and then give interested parties the opportunity to build on this by attending further courses that even include SVEB 1, for example. You will also find continuing education, further training courses that award certification from the European Coaching Association (ECA), such as the ECA Master Mental Coach / Dipl. Mentaltherapeut/in. This European-recognized training, in combination with a basic anatomical training course of 450 hours, also qualifies for registration with ASCA as a mental therapist.
If you are looking for a less comprehensive training or further education, you can, for example, do a continuing education, further training to become a certified mental and stress coach after the basic course.

While individual courses deal with specific topics, a full training course offers a comprehensive learning concept including certification. It also usually includes supervision, self-awareness and a final examination. Coaching training teaches structured process management and ethical behavior in the coaching context.
