You can complete basic training (apprenticeship) as a retail specialist in one of a total of 28 areas. These are hardware, electrical goods, paints, DIY, household, furniture, carpets and floor coverings, textiles, perfumery, sporting goods, shoes, leather goods and travel goods, watches, jewelry and gemstones. You can also choose from the postal services, consumer electronics, car parts logistics, stationery, toys, musical instruments, audio-visual media and music supplies sectors. You can also choose from food and beverages, kiosks, bakery / confectionery / confectionery, meat industry, as well as Flower, Landi, Garden and pet shops.

Anyone wishing to train as a retail specialist with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma) must meet the following criteria:

• Completed compulsory schooling

In addition:

• Quick comprehension and willingness to learn
• Strong organizational skills
• Confident handling of numbers and analytical thinking
• Confident handling of foreign languages
• Customer and service-oriented attitude
• Enthusiasm for working on the computer

Training to become a retail specialist with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training takes three years.

Depending on the chosen focus (designing shopping experiences, managing online stores), it takes place 3.5 to 4 days a week at the training company and 1 to 1.5 days a week at the vocational school.
