Do I need to have any prior knowledge for a Dorn-Breuss massage course?

Most providers do not require any previous knowledge or experience in the field of massages or forms of therapy, so that anyone who wants to be trained in this area can learn the Dorn-Breuss massage. However, there are also training courses that require in-depth massage experience and knowledge of anatomy. Please ask the individual schools directly about the admission requirements and the target group of the individual courses.

Is the Dorn-Breuss massage recognized by the EMR?

No, the Dorn-Breuss massage is not yet (as of January 2015) recognized by the Empirical Medical Register (EMR), which means that the treatment cannot be covered by supplementary health insurance.

Will I learn everything I need in a Dorn Breuss massage course to be able to treat patients independently?

A Dorn-Breuss massage course provides you with basic theoretical and practical knowledge about manual spinal therapy. You will learn how to place vertebrae in the correct position through gentle massage and constant pressure, thereby correcting misalignments. Through the combination of spinal technique and spinal massage, you will achieve great success with the Dorn-Breuss method and will be able to carry out this therapy independently. However, it is advisable that you first attend one or more advanced courses, which will familiarize you more intensively with the subject matter and allow you to practice what you have learned under expert guidance.

Can I also train only in Dorn therapy or Breuss massage?

Many providers offer you the opportunity to learn both the Dorn-Breuss massage and therapy as a whole, as well as both approaches separately. The Breuss massage in particular is a very popular form of therapy, but some providers also offer special courses in spinal treatment according to Dieter Dorn. However, it is often a good idea to learn both forms of therapy together in order to benefit from a wider range of treatments and achieve maximum treatment success.
