The position formerly known as "Maintenance Manager" is now called "Facility Management and Maintenance Manager"

Facility management and maintenance managers (formerly known as maintenance managers) can be found in commercial, industrial, and service-sector organizations such as banks, hospitals, and property management companies. Technical systems are being used more and more frequently, which requires professional maintenance.

Facility management and maintenance managers (formerly known as maintenance supervisors) possess the necessary expertise and are therefore in high demand in the job market. Their role is to plan and coordinate maintenance work. In addition, they develop strategies for the process-oriented organization of maintenance and implement them with their team. To ensure this is done as efficiently as possible, they must be familiar with the production processes used.

To achieve value-added and safety goals, they make a significant contribution by optimizing the availability, productivity, and quality of production and operational resources. In addition to these tasks, maintenance managers are responsible for taking into account the economic aspects of their work as well as workplace safety. They also handle controlling functions. They plan the allocation of resources, prepare budgets, develop action plans, and establish monitoring tools. As for the logistical aspect of their work, they organize the most efficient possible management of operational resources and spare parts inventories. Issues related to contract law—such as product liability or warranty obligations—are familiar territory for them. They are also well-versed in environmental protection and ensure its smooth implementation within the company.

Upon successful completion of the federal examinations, graduates will now receive the federally recognized title of "Certified Facility Management and Maintenance Manager."
