Training in the Lomi Lomi massage technique is suitable for all those who are interested in this special technique and already have a basic knowledge of massage. People without previous knowledge should get in touch with the contact person at the Wellness Academy directly (e.g. via the contact form).

To learn about and apply the basic techniques and special features of Lomi Lomi massage or bodywork, for example, a two-day course is offered to learn the "queen of massages". During this time, participants learn about the history behind the bodywork and how it works and practise the treatment process and basic techniques in detail. Please ask the providers directly for the duration of the individual courses.

For all those who already have a basic knowledge of Lomi Lomi bodywork and now want to delve deeper into this technique, various types of continuing education, further training are offered. The intensive days include advanced massage techniques and massage sequences, ritual and energy work, process support basics, working with the five elements, the frigate bird step and other topics. Shorter continuing education, further training courses teach new application techniques and intensify the treatment process.

Each school sets the prices for training in Lomi Lomi bodywork individually. At the Swiss Wellness Academy, participants of a basic training in Hawaiian Bodywork pay CHF 580 and CHF 280 for an advanced day. Continuing education, further training as a four-day workshop costs CHF 1,080 (as of 2018).

Lomi Lomi is a form of bodywork that originates from the Hawaiian Islands, where it has a centuries-old tradition. During the original massage, the body, mind and soul are relaxed and cleansed. Blockages are removed and harmony is restored. The masseurs and masseuses who use this type of massage usually use a lot of oil, which is massaged in with hands, forearms and elbows in flowing movements. Traditionally, the treatment is accompanied by chants and music, putting the person being treated into a kind of trance. Here in Europe, however, the Lomi massage is mainly offered as a wellness massage and the main focus is on relaxing the body.
