My name is Alexandra Lüthi. I have a basic training in intensive care and anesthesia and a Master's degree in law. I teach business administration at the Migros Club School for Medical Practice Coordinators (MPK).
The target group for the Medical Practice Coordinator course is experienced medical practice assistants (MPA) who would like to manage a smaller or larger team.
To take part in the Medical Practice Coordinator training program, you need a secondary or tertiary education in the medical field (human medicine, but also dentistry or veterinary medicine) as well as practical experience. You must also enjoy managing other employees.
There are two variants of the Medical Practice Coordinator training: clinical and practice management. The basic training modules include
These basic modules provide participants with a solid foundation in all relevant facets of being a Medical Practice Coordinator in order to lead a group or team.
The Medical Practice Coordinator course varies in length, but certainly lasts several months. Two basic modules can be taken together or one module after the other. Depending on how much time you want to invest in the course alongside your professional and private life, or how quickly you want to complete the course.
Various examinations are required for the tertiary qualification as a medical practice coordinator with a federal certificate. Firstly, written examinations for each module completion. In addition, a written diploma thesis including an oral presentation and a practical examination must be completed for the professional examination.
The lessons in the Medical Practice Coordinator course are designed to be as varied as possible. A major challenge is to put the theory from the lessons into practice later on. To this end, we try to work through many practical examples, such as writing a quality management manual or using the knowledge gained from personnel management and practice management to introduce new team members to the practice and to chair a new team meeting. We also use the new enriching possibilities of online teaching with whiteboards in the Medical Practice Coordinator course.
The Migros Club School locations have numerous advantages. On the one hand, they are very centrally located and easy to reach from anywhere. On the other hand, the Club School offers a perfect infrastructure and good supplementary offers for further gaps in knowledge - e.g. a course in keyboarding or an ECDL course.
