As part of the air conditioning service technician / ventilation / air conditioning service technician course, participants take the examination for the refrigerant specialist license and the VDI6022/SWKI VA104-01 hygiene training examination.

Anyone wishing to take part in continuing education, further training to become a service technician / service fitter for air conditioning / ventilation must meet one of the following requirements:

• Apprenticeship qualification as a ventilation fitter or building services planner specializing in ventilation / air conditioning
• Apprenticeship qualification as a refrigeration fitter or building services planner specializing in refrigeration
• Apprenticeship qualification in a related profession, e.g. electrician, heating fitter, plumber, chimney sweep and at least two years of professional experience as a ventilation fitter
• Certified training as a ventilation fitter and at least 2 years of professional experience as a ventilation fitter
• At least four years of professional experience as a ventilation fitter without a recognized apprenticeship qualification

A service technician HFA ventilation / air conditioning has continuing education, further training in maintenance, repair, service and maintenance work and is a trained ventilation fitter. These specialists are entrusted with carrying out repairs, working on refrigeration systems, assessing ventilation and air conditioning systems in the hygiene sector and taking appropriate measures in the event of faults and defects. In addition, an air conditioning service technician is able to assess the energy efficiency of systems and provide advice on renewable energies and energy-saving measures, suggest, justify and initiate system optimizations.

After completing the air conditioning service technician course, those who have passed all the examinations receive the school certificate as well as the refrigerant specialist permit, the hygiene training B certificate in accordance with SWKI VA104-01 / VDI 6022 and the fire protection installation and inspection of fire dampers certificate.

Air conditioning and refrigeration technology are part of the continuing education, further training as an air conditioning service technician, as are water technology, heating technology, filter technology, electrical technology, connection technology and MSRL.
