The following conditions must be met for admission to the Federal Professional Examination for Heating Technicians or Heating Supervisors with Federal Diploma of Higher Education (at the time of taking the examination):

• Completion of vocational education and training (Federal VET Diploma) as a heating fitter and at least 2 years of professional experience in the heating industry after completing basic training

or

• Completion of vocational education and training (VET) in a related profession and at least 4 years of professional experience in the heating industry after completing basic training

and

• Proof of the required module qualifications or certificates of equivalence

The part-time continuing education, further training for the Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Heating takes about 1.5 years.

A heating technician or heating service technician course usually lasts one week.
