What connects the two people who are about to say "I do"? What do they love about each other? Is there a theme for the wedding reception? If, for example, a Viking wedding is planned, it is essential that the speaker deals with the theme and incorporates it into the ceremony and the speech. If you want to become a wedding speaker, you first and foremost need a flair for ceremonies and weddings, a large portion of creativity and a lot of joy in dealing with people. It is also very important that you enjoy standing and speaking in front of people and are not easily flustered when everyone around you is nervous on this important day or when something unplanned happens. In the wedding speaker training course, you will learn how to prepare and deliver emotional speeches and how to deal professionally with bridal couples.

The procedure for a funeral or burial is quite different again. An important challenge for a funeral orator is to deal sensitively and appropriately with the relatives. It takes a great deal of sensitivity to recognize the wishes and concerns of the family and/or friends and to implement them professionally and calmly.

Most courses also include marketing so that participants can market their offer well and obtain orders after successful completion.

The Tauer speaker training or wedding speaker training usually lasts a few days, spread over a period of a few weeks. Many courses are also offered hybrid or online. In addition, many schools also offer further advice and coaching so that newly qualified wedding speakers have more confidence for their first assignments.

You can become a wedding officiant without any specific previous training and regardless of age by attending a wedding officiant training course. These usually last a few days, spread over a few weeks or months, and are sometimes held in hybrid form or online. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate from the school and - depending on what the school offers - are coached by the instructors during their first independent assignments.

The training courses for ceremony leaders vary greatly. Some are very comprehensive, while others offer specific teachings on individual areas, such as wedding ceremonies or how to marry couples. Holistic training deals with design options as well as the symbols and rituals of various ceremonies. There are also several areas of communication and the basics of management. Heads of ceremony are responsible for special ceremonies. Weddings, funerals and baptisms used to take place exclusively in churches. In the mid-nineties of the last century, however, the first of these ceremonies also took place outside of a church setting. The demand for independent wedding ceremonies, funeral orators and independent speakers for a wide variety of ceremonies, as well as the various offers are considerable and are increasingly becoming part of everyday life. The professional field of ceremony management is still developing and will therefore remain exciting new territory for a long time to come.
