How long do courses in supervision last and how much do they cost?

Duration

The time required for certificate courses in supervision is made up of face-to-face teaching, self-study and teaching supervision. In some cases, work in learning groups, intervision, video training, individual coaching, theses, final colloquia, etc. are also required.

TheClassroom teachingcomprises 7-21, but mostly 10-16 course days. The teaching days are spread over 6 to 12 months (individually or in 2- to 3-day blocks).

The time required for theSelf-studydepends on individual circumstances such as previous education, experience, training objective.

Depending on the training course, a certain number ofTeaching supervision sessionsThese also take time. Ask the providers of your choice about their experience.

TheCAS coursesare credited with 15 ECTS points. One ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 working hours, i.e. you should expect to spend around 375-450 hours on the CAS courses in supervision.

Costs

The costs depend on theNumber of teaching daysand the range of mentoring and supervision options: They start at around CHF 3,200 for shorter, method-specific further training courses; 10-day certificate courses cost around CHF 3,900 and certificate courses with 15-16 seminar days around CHF 7,700-9250. Costs of around CHF 390-620 are therefore incurred per teaching day. The cost differences result from the different services included in the respective offers.

Depending on the providerseparate costsfor certificates of competence, registration fees, teaching materials, individual teaching supervision, hotel accommodation and group activities.

If you continue your training up to the HFP and pass the examination, the federal government will reimburse you up to 50% of your course fees.
