Hier lernen die Studierenden die wichtigsten verfahrenstechnischen Arbeitsmethoden und Grundoperationen der Prozessindustrie kennen. Sie kennen die Charakterisierung grobdisperser Systeme, mechanische Trenn- und Zerkleinerungsverfahren, die mechanische Stoffvereinigung sowie die Grundlagen von Wärme- und Stoffübertragungsprozessen und können dieses Wissen bei der Auswahl, Bewertung und Auslegung verfahrenstechnischer Apparate, Anlagen und Prozesse in der Biotechnologie richtig anwenden bzw. übertragen. Dazu gehört auch ein Praktikum in der Bioverfahrenstechnik.

A high school diploma is required for a Biotechnology UAS course; for foreign diplomas, the Universities will provide information on admission options.

• entwickeln und produzieren eine Vielzahl von Wirkstoffen und Arzneimitteln
• evaluieren verschiedene Produktionsverfahren bis hin zur Arzneimittelformulierung
• übertragen die im Labor gewonnenen Erkenntnisse schrittweise auf die Anforderungen der industriellen Produktion
• sind verantwortlich für die Zulassung und das Qualitätsmanagement in der Produktion
• entwickeln und optimieren biotechnologische Verfahren mit Mikroorganismen, tierischen und menschlichen Zellen und übertragen diese vom Labor in industrielle Produktionsanlagen
