Marketing courses: What are the main disadvantages?

After attending marketing courses, you will have the basics you need to enter the marketing sector. You will know the basics of business administration and economics, marketing, marketing communication, sales and distribution. This will enable you to take on marketing tasks independently and relieve your line manager and the team.

Marketing courses - the main disadvantages are:

  1. The qualification is not a federal certificate and is not always recognized nationally. Possible qualifications are the certificate of the IAB Switzerland Association or an SAQ personal certificate or intermediate qualifications at clerk level are, for example, the Edupool diploma or the VSK diploma.
  2. As the qualifications at certificate level are not federally regulated, the admission requirements and course content may vary from school to school. When choosing a provider of marketing courses, it is important to ensure that the training supports the desired professional goals in the best possible way and is monitored by associations or other organizations.
  3. If you want to work in marketing, you should have a marketing-oriented mindset, a meticulous way of working and a high degree of independence. In addition, good written and oral communication skills and knowledge of foreign languages are required. Not all skills can be acquired in marketing courses.
  4. Even after completing a marketing course, the learning doesn't stop: Anyone wishing to pursue a qualified job in marketing must then complete a clerk training course or the Federal Professional Examination in Marketing. The federal certificate requires two years of professional experience in marketing.

Graduates generally work as marketing assistants in various companies in different sectors.
