Personnel administration and personnel controlling

The course on personnel administration is aimed in particular at trustees and accountants who have responsibility for personnel management in their day-to-day work and would like to acquire in-depth knowledge of current personnel issues and payroll accounting.

The most important topics at a glance:

  1. Social insurances
    Participants receive a helpful overview of insurance for SMEs and learn how to safely organize and handle social insurance for staff using examples.
  2. Payroll administration
    Here, graduates are taught how SMEs handle wages correctly in accounting. Which accounts in controlling must be opened and which are optional. Practical examples are used to explain how to correctly calculate and post various actions such as absences or benefits in kind within HR management.
  3. Taxes / Wage statements
    Here, course participants learn how SMEs must issue flawless wage statements, where the tricky points are and what must be taken into account. In addition, taxation is explained in detail and valuable tips are passed on on how to keep salaries for SMEs low for tax purposes.
  4. Foreign employees
    The topic is more topical than ever, as more and more SMEs are also employing foreign workers. How do they have to be hired and which permits are mandatory? Which authorities does a company have to deal with in order to hire employees from abroad, what are the most important agreements with the EU and how is personnel administration managed correctly in such cases? All these questions are discussed and explained in the module.
  5. Labor law
    During this module, participants are introduced to the most important employment law requirements - from employment to vacation, sickness, accident, military service, civilian service and maternity through to termination - and are given a good overview of the most important points of employment contracts.

The further training course in personnel administration costs between CHF 2,600 (members of veb.ch/ACF/swisco) and CHF 2,750 (non-members).

The "Personnel administration for foreign employees" certificate course is aimed at people who employ foreign employees or send them abroad and have to declare taxes, as well as those responsible for labor law issues, residence permits and payroll accounting who want to receive targeted further training.

It is possible to complete the certificate course in personnel administration for foreign employees with a certificate examination, although this is voluntary rather than compulsory.

The course on personnel administration for foreign employees covers employment law and illegal employment law as well as residence permits with their various types and quotas. In addition, the posting of employees and the associated withholding tax/taxes are dealt with on an entire day of the course. In terms of content, the cost of living allowance, fitter clause and double taxation will also be discussed, as well as the tax consequences of de facto employer status and the classification of individual employees as permanent establishments. Social insurance in Switzerland is of course also discussed, as well as cross-border social insurance, including continued salary payment obligations, cross-border commuter regulations, reclaiming AHV and BVG contributions and much more. Finally, on the last day of training, the practical implementation of payroll accounting will be discussed.

The "Personnel administration for foreign employees" course is a four-day, full-time continuing education, further training course.

The continuing education, further training in personnel administration for foreign employees is recognized by TREUHAND SUISSE for 4 days and by EXPERTsuisse for 32 hours.

The content of all the training courses mentioned is basically the same:

  • HR Assistant (Cert.)
  • Human Resources Administrator (Certified)
  • Personnel Assistant (Cert.)

What is different is the recognition by the association HRSE (Human Resources Swiss Exams).

Anyone wishing to train as an HR specialist in the future should complete a course with an HRSE certificate.
