What are the main disadvantages of outplacement training?

If you want a guarantee of quality, you should choose training courses that are recognized by professional associations such as the Swiss Association for Counselling (SGfB), the Swiss Professional Association for Coaching, Supervision and Organizational Consulting (bso), the European Association for Supervision and Coaching (EASC), the European Coachings Association (ECA) or the International Coach Federation (ICF).
- Working as an outplacement consultant requires empathy, patient restraint, analytical skills and persuasiveness. Not everyone has these skills and they can only be partially acquired through training.
- The training costs of CHF 3,000 to CHF 29,000 are not subsidized by the federal government, as this is not a federal examination. Support from the employer is possible. The part-time training course, which lasts several months, requires good self-organization and time management skills.
- The learning usually doesn't stop after the outplacement training: Perhaps it makes sense to confirm your knowledge with a Federal Professional Examination to become a job coach or company mentor.
